Welcome to the Hypnotherapy Level 1 Course, our foundation course in hypnosis. It is designed for two kinds of learner: people who are curious about hypnosis and want to understand how it really works, and those who plan to go on to the Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy & Applied Psychotherapy and would like to begin with the foundations.
Over two modules and eleven lessons, you will learn what hypnotherapy truly is (and is not), how the mind works, what trance is and how to recognise it, and the safety and ethical principles behind responsible hypnosis. You will then practise suggestibility tests and the Elman induction, deepeners, the language of trance, working with whatever the client presents, accessing a client’s inner resources, post-hypnotic suggestions, and bringing someone safely out of trance.
A stepping stone to the Diploma
If you later enrol on the Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy & Applied Psychotherapy, the modules you have completed in Level 1 will be credited towards it.
Please note
Level 1 is an introductory course and does not lead to an accredited qualification. Students are not declared competent, and on completion you will receive a Certificate of Attendance. The course does not qualify you to practise as a hypnotherapist or to set up a hypnotherapy practice. To practise, you need to complete the Diploma.
